This fresh peach salsa recipe is a delicious sweet and spicy condiment made with ripe peaches, Roma tomatoes, crunchy red bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, crisp red onion, cilantro, and zesty lime juice. Enjoy it as a dip with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, grilled meats, and more.

Fresh peach salsa is one of my favorite ways to use up ripe peaches in the summer months. Peach season has a small window here in Ontario, so it feels like a special treat whenever I make it.
If you’re looking for something to make with ripe peaches that isn’t a cobbler or dessert, then try this fresh peach salsa recipe!
It’s less acidic than my pineapple salsa or fresh pico de gallo, but it’s still just as tasty.
I normally like to serve this as an appetizer with a big bowl of crispy tortilla chips at family parties, but it also tastes great as a topping for grilled salmon or chicken.
Fresh peach salsa ingredients

Peaches: You can use fresh or canned peaches to make this salsa. I prefer to make it with fresh ripe peaches that are still on the firmer side.
If you use peaches that are too ripe, they will break down in the salsa and become mushy. You can use yellow or white peaches. I like to use yellow peaches.
Roma tomatoes: I like to add Roma tomatoes to my peach salsa. It helps add some savory depth to balance with the sweet peaches.
Roma tomatoes are my favorite for this fresh salsa because they are firm, have fewer seeds, and are less watery than other tomatoes.
If you don’t like tomatoes, you can substitute with 1 – 1¼ cups of finely diced mango, pineapple, or strawberries.
Red bell pepper: Bell pepper adds the perfect crunchy texture to this salsa.
Jalapeño pepper: This adds a slight kick of heat to the salsa and crunchy texture. I normally remove the ribs and seeds from the jalapeño, but you can leave them in if you prefer a spicier salsa.
Red onion: This adds a sharp and savory bite to the salsa which balances the flavor of the sweet peaches.
Cilantro: This adds a citrusy flavor and nice pop of green to the salsa. If you don’t like cilantro, you can leave it out.
Lime juice: This helps balance the fruit’s natural sweetness and cuts through the heat.
Salt: This is essential for balancing the sweetness of the peaches and acid of the fresh lime juice.
Chili powder: This adds a warm and smoky depth to the peach salsa which helps balance the fruit’s natural sweetness. I use regular chili powder.
You can use Tajin if you prefer. This is a popular Mexican seasoning blend made from chili peppers, lime juice, and salt.
How to make fresh peach salsa

In a large bowl, combine the peaches, tomatoes, red bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, red onion, cilantro, and fresh lime juice. Season to taste with salt and chili powder (or Tajin if using). I normally use ½ teaspoon of fine sea salt and ¼ teaspoon of chili powder for the best flavor.
A little chili powder or Tajin goes a long way. Start with 1/8 teaspoon if you’re not sure, then as more if desired.
Serve at room temperature or chilled. For the best flavor, allow the salsa to rest at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes, which helps the flavors mingle together.
How to serve peach salsa
Tortilla chips: This is a classic snack for parties or game days.
Cream cheese dip: Spoon the peach salsa over a block of softened cream cheese or goat cheese and serve with crackers.
Meats: It’s delicious with fish tacos, shrimp tacos, grilled salmon, blackened tilapia, cilantro-lime chicken, or as a topping for burgers.
Rice bowl: Use it as a topping for homemade burrito bowls. Try it with my cilantro lime rice.

Description
This fresh peach salsa recipe is a delicious sweet and spicy condiment made with ripe peaches, Roma tomatoes, crunchy red bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, crisp red onion, cilantro, and zesty lime juice. Enjoy it as a dip with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, grilled meats, and more.
Ingredients
- 3 medium ripe peaches, pitted and chopped small
- 2 medium Roma tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
- 1/2 medium red bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, to taste
- Salt, to taste (I use 1/2 teaspoon of fine sea salt)
- Chili powder or Tajin, to taste (I use 1/4 teaspoon chili powder)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the peaches, tomatoes, red bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, red onion, cilantro, and fresh lime juice.
- Serve at room temperature or chilled. For the best flavor, allow the salsa to rest at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes, which helps the flavors mingle together. If you enjoy a chilled salsa, cover and refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Make sure everything is uniformly diced. I like to finely chop all the ingredients to the same size so every bite will have a little bit of everything.
- Adjust the heat level. For a mild salsa, remove the seeds and white ribs from the jalapeño pepper before dicing. If you prefer a spicier salsa, leave them in or use a habanero instead.
- Tastes best when fresh. While this salsa can last up to 2 days covered in an airtight container in the fridge, it tastes best on the day it’s made.
- Tomato substitute: You can use 1 – 1¼ cups of finely diced ripe mango, pineapple, or strawberries.
