Air Fryer Chicken Wings
These Air Fryer Chicken Wings are super crispy with blistered skin and a tender, juicy center. They’re tossed in a savoy dry rub seasoning and come together in just 25 minutes. They achieve a deep crunch without the mess of deep-frying. There’s no marinating time required, which makes them the perfect game day snack or appetizer.

I was never a big fan of chicken wings growing up, but once I learned how to make them in the air fryer, they’ve quickly become our family’s go-to easy dinner or appetizer. They’re easy to make and we love serving them with my homemade buttermilk ranch dipping sauce.
These chicken wings are tossed in a pantry-friendly dry rub seasoning that’s savory and full of flavor. My picky toddler loves them! If you’re looking for a spicier version, you’ll want to try my air fryer buffalo wings.
The prep is so quick! Simply season the wings, air fry, then enjoy! It’s the perfect 30-minute meal which gives me enough time to make a pot of rice and cook some frozen veggies.
Air Fryer Chicken Wing Recipe

Chicken wings: I use the wingettes and drumettes to make this recipe. They’re similar in size, which means they cook more evenly.
Seasoning: My dry rub seasoning is Creole inspired. It’s not spicy, but you can add a little cayenne pepper for a kick of heat if desired.
You’ll need salt, freshly ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, and cayenne pepper (if you want to add some heat).
Baking powder: This helps create a super crispy skin on the chicken wings without deep frying them in oil.
How to make air fryer chicken wings
Make the dry seasoning. In a small bowl, add the kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, basil, thyme, freshly ground black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and baking powder. Mix until combined.
Prep the chicken wings. Use a paper towel to pat the chicken wings dry. This will help the seasoning stick to the chicken wings better so they can get nice and crispy in the air fryer.
Add the wings to a large bowl and toss them with the dry seasoning until they’re evenly coated.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. My air fryer takes 3 minutes to preheat. Once the air fryer has preheated, place the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer. (You may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer).
Cook the wings for 15 to 22 minutes, flipping once halfway through, or until crisp and cooked through. (My air fryer takes 22 minutes).

Serve. Enjoy as is, tossed in your favorite wing sauce, or with your favorite dipping sauce. We like my homemade ranch dip.
What to serve with air fryer chicken wings
When serving as an appetizer, we love to serve these wings with celery and carrot sticks with dipping sauce on the side, such as ranch or buffalo wing sauce.
When serving this as a main course, we like to serve it with baked potato wedges, cilantro lime rice, kale crunch salad, a fresh garden salad, creamy potato salad, or classic macaroni salad.
