Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip for Apples
This peanut butter yogurt dip for apples is healthy and takes only five minutes to make. It’s the perfect snack option when you need something naturally sweet.

Apples are my favorite mid-day or after-dinner snack. I like to sprinkle a little Himalayan salt on apples slices and dip them in this tasty peanut butter yogurt dip. It’s a match made in heaven.
Most peanut butter dips for apples are loaded with cream cheese and sugar, but I’ve been on the quest to find a healthier dip that’s full of good-for-you ingredients.
This peanut butter dip is simple to make with natural peanut butter, plain Greek yogurt, a touch of maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. It’s a good source of healthy fat from the peanut butter and high in protein, from the Greek yogurt.
If you’ve been trying to eat more fruit or have picky eaters in your house, this dip actually makes you want to eat apples again and again.
Peanut butter yogurt dip ingredients

Peanut butter: I like using natural smooth peanut butter to make this dip, which is made from with no added oil or sugar. If you prefer a chunkier texture, then use natural chunky peanut butter.
Greek yogurt: I use plain 0% Greek yogurt to make this dip, with no added sugar. If you prefer a sweeter dip, than vanilla Greek yogurt would taste great in this recipe.
Maple syrup: I use pure maple syrup to naturally sweeten this dip. You can substitute with honey or agave nectar if you prefer.
Cinnamon: I use Ceylon cinnamon in this dip, which I like better than cassia cinnamon due to its lower coumarin content. If you’re not a fan of cinnamon, then leave it out.
Vanilla extract: This gives the dip good flavor.
Salt: I like to add just a pinch of Himalayan salt to this dip. Sea salt would be great too. It helps enhance the apple’s natural sweetness.
Cardamon: Just a pinch of ground cardamon pairs perfectly with the apples and cinnamon. A little goes a long way, so remember to use just a tiny amount.

How to make peanut butter yogurt dip for apples
Add all the ingredients to a bowl and stir until everything is creamy and smooth. It’s that simple!

Tip: If your peanut butter is difficult to mix, I recommend putting it in the microwave for 10-20 second increments to help it soften.
Alternatively, you can put the peanut butter in a heat-safe container and place it in a warm water bath.
Make ahead and storage tips
The dip can be made ahead of time. It will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
I don’t recommend freezing the dip due to the yogurt because the texture might change after thawing.

What to serve with peanut butter yogurt dip
- Apple slices – We love Gala, Honeycrisp, and Granny Smith apples with this peanut butter yogurt dip.
- Bananas – Use bananas that are just ripe (not spotty) as they will stay firm and hold their shape with this dip.
- Berries – We love strawberries and blueberries with this dip.
- Crackers – Graham cracks and animal crackers taste great with this peanut butter dip.
- Celery – This would be the perfect for ants on a log. Simply cut the celery in half and spread the dip. Then add raisins on top.
Variations and adaptation suggestions
Make it dairy free by using vegan yogurt. You can use plain or vanilla yogurt, depending on your taste preferences.
Allergic to peanuts? Use almond butter instead of peanut butter. It will taste slightly different but still be delicious.
This dip has a very peanut-forward taste. If you want to tone down the peanut flavor, use ¼ cup peanut butter and ¾ Greek yogurt.
If you want to increase the peanut flavor, use ½ cup peanut butter and ½ cup Greek yogurt.
